Sue graduated as a mature student from Plymouth University in 2017 with a degree in Environmental Science (First class Honours), where she gained experience in several interdisciplinary approaches to environmental science, including environmental law, sustainable development, environmental pollution and ecological economics. Since graduating, Sue has worked as a Research Scientist, developing more environmentally friendly routes to chitosan manufacture.
Sue now takes the lead in helping customers with their technical enquiries and conducting environmental assessments. She is also involved in new product development and quality assurance.
Sue completed a level 3 certificate in Pool Plant Operations in 2019 and has developed a sound knowledge of pool and hot tub chemistry. She is passionate about reducing chemical use, particularly in pools and hot tubs. She is our ‘go to’ person for all pool or hot tub related customer enquiries.
Jonathan is the MD at Pennosan®. Prior to establishing Pennosan, Jonathan worked for over 20 years in the Water Treatment chemicals industry including R&D and Strategic Marketing roles at Allied Colloids, Ciba Specialty Chemicals and BASF Water Solutions. Jonathan established Pennosan in order to bring new, natural, environmentally friendly water cleaning and pollutant-removing products to market. Jonathan is also joint owner of Pennotec (Pennog Ltd), a sustainable products and processes business that is at the vanguard of the Green and Circular Economy. Pennosan’s Water Treatment formulations contain green and clean chitosan products, manufactured from sustainable British shellfish.
